To affect our mission of unity, we search out and undertake whatever works may best further the kingdom of God. We encourage and assist those who desire to follow Jesus more closely. We work with others to alleviate the conditions which cause ignorance, poverty, suffering and oppression.
Our mission of unity calls us to undertake a variety of ministries in response to the needs of our times, in accordance with the gifts and abilities of our Sisters and the resources of the Congregation.
To affect unity of all people with God and with one another, we search out and undertake whatever works may best further the kingdom of God.
“Think of the many, many stories about God choosing people. There are Moses, Abraham, and Sarah; there are David, Jeremiah, Gideon, Samuel, Jonah, and Isaiah. There is Israel itself. Much later there are Peter and Paul, and, most especially, Mary.
God is always choosing people. First impressions aside, God is not primarily choosing them for a role or a task, although it might appear that way. God is really choosing them to be God’s self in this world, each in a unique situation. If they allow themselves to experience being chosen, being a beloved, being somehow God’s presence in the world, they invariably communicate that same chosenness to others. And thus the Mystery passes on from age to age. Yes, we do have roles and tasks in this world, but finally they are all the same—to uniquely be divine love in a way that no one else can or will.”
― Richard Rohr, Things Hidden: Scripture as Spirituality
Our mission is rooted in the mission of Jesus, that same mission which continually unfolds in His church: “that all may be one, as You, Father, are one in me, and I in You; I pray that they may be one in us…”
― (John 17:21)
We are called to work with our dear neighbor. In order to carry out this commitment, we have been called to establish many ministries. These have changed greatly over the years. Where we worked in large numbers in large institutions, we now form new ways to minister in a more personal way. Through collaborations we work to minister in love and spirit to carry out the gospel message of Jesus.
We are all called to minister in different places and ways. Where are you called? Find your place and let your gifts, talents, compassion and love serve as God has called you.
