Sister Claranne McFarling has been a member of the Congregation since 1977. As a teacher she worked in Special Education for 30 years. During this time, working with the Cursillo movement, retreats and workshops, as well as accompanying women on their spiritual journey, provided time for special ministry with adults. In addition, Claranne has been honoured on many occasions for her work as a member of the Council for Exceptional Children serving in a multitude of roles. In October 2005, she was awarded the President's Award for her many contributions to exceptional young people and the Council.

At present Sister Claranne is a pastoral associate in St. Jerome's Parish in Sault Ste. Marie. She continues to be part of the gatherings of Sisters and Associates of St. Joseph In April of 2010, Sister Claranne was elected to the Leadership Team of the congregation for the next four years.

Spirit of Wisdom, open our hearts

     to hear the whisper of your voice calling us to service,

     to love as people of compassion, justice and peace,

     to respond to suffering wherever we meet it.
