OBITUARY

The Sisters announce the death of Sister Louise Rioux (Sister M. Bernadette) on July 3rd, 2010. Sister was predeceased by her parents and eight siblings. She is survived by her sister Madeleine and her brother George. Born in Trois-Pistoles QC January 17, 1920, Sister entered The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie on September 7, 1937 as one of the founding members of the congregation. Sister Louise ministered in food services and pastoral care in North Bay, Blind River, Port Arthur (present day Thunder Bay), Sudbury and Little Current. She will be remembered as a woman of deep faith and prayer who celebrated life with joy and gratitude. Gracious hospitality and reverence for all creation were her hallmarks. Sister Louise's body was received at the Motherhouse on Tuesday, July 6th and her funeral was celebrated Wednesday, July 7th. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Bay. May Sister Louise rest in peace.

LEADERSHIP INSTALLATION

On Saturday June 26th, Bishop Jean-Louis Plouffe, with concelebrants Msgr. Dennis Murphy and Msgr. George Bourguignon, presided over the Eucharist and the Installation of the 2010-2014 Leadership Team: Sisters Shirley Anderson, General Superior, Sarah Quackenbush, Assistant General Superior, Councillors: Sisters Claranne McFarling, Cecily Hewitt and Alice Greer. Sisters, family members and friends gathered in Sacred Heart Chapel for the ceremony.
